Mission and History
Manheim Township Educational Foundation (MTEF) provides resources to educators, administrators and school-related groups for innovative educational programs for all Manheim Township School District students.
Established in 1993 to strengthen, enhance and enrich the educational experience of Manheim Township students, MTEF supports the district through a robust grantmaking program that promotes innovative strategies for delivering curriculum. MTEF’s work is funded by contributions from the community – businesses and individuals, including educators, parents and alumni – as well as institutional and foundation grants.

Recent Grant Awards
In May 2023, MTEF Board of Directors approved the award of $66,000 to fund 16 grants benefiting students across the district.Awarded Grants
MTEF is the Manheim Township Educational Foundation, an independent 501 c3 nonprofit dedicated to supporting projects that improve and enhance the mission of the Manheim Township School District.
MTEF raises funds through a variety of sources, including individual giving, Educational Improvement Tax Credit contributions, foundation and institutional grants, endowments, Community Partners and fundraising events and campaigns.
Pennsylvania’s Educational Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) program awards tax credits to eligible businesses contributing to qualified organizations; MTEF is an Educational Improvement Organization approved to receive EITC contributions.
MTEF Community Partners support MTEF’s mission through their purchase of banner advertising throughout the Manheim Township campus.
Manheim Township educators, administrators, PTOs, school-related groups, and students may apply for MTEF grants. Manheim Township High School students are also eligible to apply for grants up to $1,000 from the Student Impact Fund.
Since 1993, MTEF has funded more than 580 grant projects totaling $1,850,000. Recent projects include the SkyLab Observatory, updated planetarium technology, media production studios, artist-in-residence programs and outdoor classrooms.
